If a beach vacation is one of your travel goals, then a trip to Thailand is what you need. Located in Southeast Asia, the country draws tourists owing to its stunning beaches, temples and rich culture. For lakhs of Indian tourists, the country is a major attraction. Before visiting the country, one must clearly understand the entry requirements. The country offers Thailand visa on arrival for Indians which is a convenient option for travelers.
Visa is an official document that allows foreign visitors to enter and stay in the country for a specified time. Indians can also apply for a Thailand Visa in advance.
Thailand is among countries offering visa on arrival for Indians. All Indian passport holders visiting Thailand to stay for not more than 15 days can avail the Visa on Arrival service from 32 designated channels of Immigration checkpoints.
Indian Passport Holders will need a Thailand Visa for Indians to take a trip to the country. They have two options to obtain the visa. One is the electronic visa on arrival facility (eVisa) which allows one to stay for a maximum of 15 days. Thailand offers visa on arrival for citizens of 19 countries, including India. On-arrival visas are also available at the country’s international airports.
Indians can also apply for a Thailand Visa from any of the Thai diplomatic missions which are administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Kingdom of Thailand. Based on one’s requirement, travelers can avail various types of visas, including a single-entry visa and multiple-entry visa.
Visa can be obtained from the Thailand Embassy or at immigration checkpoints located in international airports. Depending on the purpose of the visit, a traveler can avail any of the following visas:

An applicant can check the Thailand visa application status using the passport number.
If the applicant makes an error when filling the application or uploads incorrect or insufficient documents, the visa application can get rejected.
The traveler is required to take a print of the visa and present it at Thai border control. In addition, supporting documents including passport must also be presented upon arrival.
A traveler can apply for an online visa on arrival up to 24 hours before the expected entry date. However, it is recommended to apply much ahead of one’s departure to avoid last-minute stress.
Thailand is planning to make travel insurance mandatory for foreign visitors. Moreover, having a travel policy is highly recommended so that one can be financially prepared to face any medical or non-medical emergency.
The fee that an applicant pays for visa processing is non-refundable.
